
Louise Ayse Chekfa

Bio
Louise Ayse Chekfa is a Law Clerk in the litigation department at Griffith Immigration Law, where she assists in matters involving removal defense, asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), mandamus actions, and other humanitarian relief.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Louise is a dual citizen of the United States and Turkey and is fluent in Turkish. She earned her B.A. in Government & Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park, during which she contributed to former Attorney General Doug Gansler’s gubernatorial campaign and served as a political intern to Turkish presidential candidate Dr. Serdar Savaş. She also completed a human‑rights internship in Cape Town, South Africa, conducting legal research in support of asylum litigation for refugee clients.
Louise is entering her final year at the University of Baltimore School of Law, with an expected J.D. in May 2026. A first‑generation college graduate, she combines personal experience with professional dedication to guide individuals and families through the complexities of U.S. immigration law.
Outside the practice of law, Louise holds a yoga instructor certification from training in India, has traveled to more than 15 countries, and enjoys culinary pursuits and time spent with family. Her bicultural background and language skills reinforce her commitment to serving immigrant communities.
