Bio
Samena was born and raised in California, the daughter of immigrant parents from Afghanistan. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in December 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science.
While in California, Samena worked at a nonprofit on the Afghan Support Project, helping hundreds of Afghan nationals who arrived in the U.S. during the fall of Afghanistan. Fluent in English and Pashto, she assisted with applications for green cards, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and other immigration benefits.
Now based in Maryland, Samena works as a Paralegal at Griffith Immigration Law, where she supports attorneys on a range of cases, including Asylum and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) matters. Her dedication to serving immigrant communities continues to guide her career, and she is currently working toward attending law school with the goal of becoming an immigration attorney in the future.
Outside of her legal work, Samena enjoys spending time with family and loves to read.
