
Tonet McDowell, Esq.

Bio
Tonet was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She attended St. John’s University in Queens, New York, where she embraced her passion for diversity and the legal justice system. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies in 2008. She went on to attend New York Law School where she developed her interest in family law. While in law school, she interned at LIFT (Legal Information for Families Today) at the Brooklyn Family Court. She also interned in the Chambers of Chief Judge Robert M. Bell of the Court of Appeals of Maryland (now the Supreme Court of Maryland). In addition, she was an intern for the Office of the Public Defender in Baltimore. She graduated from law school in 2013.
Prior to joining Griffith Immigration Law, Tonet was a Senior Associate at Gallagher & Hansen, where she handled a variety of matters, including Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, U-Visas, divorce, adoptions and legal name changes.
At Griffith Immigration Law, Tonet works as a Senior Associate in the litigation department, where she continues to focus on Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases, immigration consultations as well as matters before the Immigration Court.
In her spare time, Tonet enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, playing trivia games and volunteering at church.
