Damaris Olvera
Bio
Damaris Olvera joined Griffith Immigration Law in April 2025 and serves as a paralegal on the litigation team. She works on a variety of complex immigration matters, with a focus on asylum, cancellation of removal, immigration bonds, detained cases, and motions before the Immigration Court. She is dedicated to helping clients navigate what can often be an overwhelming and uncertain legal process.
As a first-generation Mexican American and the daughter of Mexican immigrants, Damaris has a deeply personal connection to the immigrant experience. Her mother came to the United States while pregnant with her, shortly before Damaris was born. Her parents’ journey, sacrifices, and determination to build a better future for their family have given Damaris a unique appreciation for the challenges immigrant families face and have shaped the compassion she brings to her work.
Damaris is especially passionate about helping individuals and families facing removal proceedings and detention. Through her work, she has seen how deeply an immigration case can affect not only an individual, but an entire family. She takes pride in helping clients understand the legal process, ensuring their experiences and stories are heard, and assisting attorneys in building strong cases on their behalf.
Damaris double majored in Criminal Justice and Psychology, an academic background that complements her work in immigration law by providing her with an understanding of both the legal system and the human experiences behind each case. She brings compassion, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility to her role, recognizing that behind every case is a person, a family, and a future.
For Damaris, working in immigration law is particularly meaningful because it allows her to serve a community whose experiences closely reflect those of her own family. Her Mexican heritage and her parents’ journey continue to inspire her commitment to helping immigrants pursue safety, stability, and the opportunity to build a better future in the United States.
